Discount Golf Clubs The Overall Picture
As I said in the first post, not everyone can afford to buy brand new clubs every year or two years so this is when people start searching for discount golf clubs. Finding discounted golf clubs can be a challenge, especially when searching on the web. By challenge, I mean finding true discounts on golf clubs. The big boys Titleist, Callaway, etc. do have their own sites where they sell discount golf clubs so you can definitely trust them although I do find some of their “discounts” still too much for someone on a budget. For other sites, you may want to search and look around and see what their prices are and compare them. Always shop around for discount golf clubs. Don’t jump at the first deal you see because there is always a chance that there could be a lower price out there for that golf club you’re searching for.
As for the newer golf clubs (less than a year old) you may not be able to find a deal lower than $100 from original price. For example, the new drivers from Titleist, the 905T and S, they will run you about $400 brand new. I would say that if you find a discount golf club place that is selling it used for around $300, that would be a good deal. That’s still pretty expensive, but it’s better than paying the $400 right?
Now newer or more recent clubs don’t always mean better. By this I mean it depends on what type of golfer you are. If you are just learning the game and are a beginner, you may not want to pay three or four hundred dollars for a new Titleist driver or putter. Don’t buy top of the line until you are ready. Not saying that you can’t do it, but it doesn’t make sense. Especially considering you if you are new to the game and you’re not even sure if you’re going to keep playing or get frustrated which a lot of people do. Ever see those TV shows where the parent pays for expensive lessons and instruments for pianos, violin, etc. and the kid quits within one week? Don’t spend money like that until you get to that level. A nice set of used clubs from a discount golf club place will do you good. To sum it up, follow these steps:
-Always search for the best deal. Don’t go for the first deal you see because there could be better ones out there
-Keep in mind that discounts for newer clubs that are used, will be deals, but still may put a dent in your pocket.
-Buy discount golf clubs that are suitable to you playing ability. If you’re just starting, you don’t need top of the line. A good used set will do just for you to get the hang of it and to decide if you’re going to stick with golf.

Golf Club Sweet Spot - Why Important
The golf club sweet spot is the best surface on the club face to hit the ball. It’s the effective hitting area. Here’s why the sweet spot of a driver is important.
The larger the sweet spot, the more forgiving the club will be. A large sweet spot reduces the number of mishits, but you will not be able to hit that far.
Especially the golf club sweet spot of drivers is a point you should focus on while choosing. Beginners and high handicappers often choose for large sweet spots to enjoy the game and gain self-confidence. Many name brands stress this point in their ads.
An oversized lady golf driver is very suitable for a high handicapper or starter. The head is between 200 and 250 cubic centimeters volume. It has a large golf sweet spot and therefore the golf club is more forgiving.
Also heads with a volume of up to 460 cc, sometimes called oversized Jumbo’s, are okay for beginners. Keep in mind that you have to practice a lot on the driving range, because this big one is harder to control.
But in every golfers life there will come a day that you want to reach maximum distance when you tee-off. Then a smaller driver head and thus a smaller sweet spot is the best solution.
Choose a standard driver with a small head size up to 155 cubic centimeters if you are an experienced low handicap golfer. The small sweet spot requires full control of the club. If you hit the ball right in the center of the club face, then the impact feels pure and the reward will be maximum distance.
Mid golf handicappers who want to improve their game and cut off strokes better choose for a mid sized one with a volume up to 200 cc. The head and the golf club sweet spot sizes are between those of the oversized and the standard model.
You can find other important points in my special checklist for lady golf drivers. Because there are more things to remember than only the proper golf club sweet spot.

Callaway ERC Fusion Driver - Long and Straight
The ERC Fusion Driver is an ultra forgiving and accurate driver. This golf club is available through the “Callaway Golf Pre-Owned” website (www.callawaygolfpreowned.com).
The ERC Fusion Driver is available in lofts from 7.5 to 12.0, and is great if you are looking to drive the ball “Long and Straight”. The 360CC carbon composite head, with a forged titanium face, is actually 75% lighter. The ERC Fusion’s 45″ shaft is standard, with either a “Regular D-2″ or “Strong D-3″ swingweight. This enables both the male and female golfer to swing the club with ease, without experiencing a loss in power.
The ERC Fusion Driver looks and feels great! How many times has your foursome stood on the tee box waiting to hit, and you start comparing each others drivers? You compare grips, weight, feel, take a few practice swings, trying to get an overall feel for one anothers clubs. Put the ERC Fusion in your bag for your next round, and you will be the envy of your foursome.
I started playing with the Callaway ERC Fusion driver in the spring of 2004. I had previously played the Callaway C4, the Biggest Big Bertha, the Great Big Bertha, and the Big Bertha Warbird. Although I liked my previous drivers, and hit them fairly well, none compare to the success I am having with the ERC Fusion. I have become much more accurate off the tee, hitting more fairways, and driving much longer than my regular opponents. As you probably know, when you are longer and straighter off the tee, you score better.
It is much easier to hit the green from 150 yds. out, from a good lie on the fairway, than it is from 170 yds. out, from the rough, or even the trees. The larger sweetspot provides me the accuracy and distance needed for tight par 4’s and long par 5’s. The ERC Fusion enables me to reach some of those par 5’s in 2, cutting even more strokes off my game. It’s great putting for an eagle every now then. The lighter feel allows me to slow down my swing producing much better contact. It is simply the best Callaway Driver I have ever played.
And yes, although they might not want to admit it, my regular playing partners do envy me, especially as I am looking back at them from the fairway, waiting for them to hit first to the green.
The “Callaway Golf Pre-Owned” website offers these beautiful, powerful, slightly used golf clubs from $139.00 to $239.00. With a MSRP of $449.00, this is quite a Golf Bargain. Whoever thought driving a golf ball “Long and Straight” could be so fun, yet so easy.
